History
 [ our brief history ]
1987
The birth of the LPG division with the formation of Syarikat Permai, Syarikat Permai became an LPG Authorized Dealer for Summit Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd under the brand name SOLAR GAS for the Sungai Bakap area. Syarikat Permai started operations from its first store in Sungai Bakap.


1995
The LPG business expanded with the acquisition of 3 units of light industrial factories at Valdor Industrial Estate, costing almost RM1 milion. All LPG operations are now consolidated at new building.


2001
Permai Gas-Pipe Engineering Sdn Bhd was incorporated. Registered as contractor with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), Department of Occupational Safety & Health (Jabatan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan) and expanded into the piping & contracting business.


2004
Permai Gas Sdn Bhd appointed Authorised Dealer & Stockist for Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd under the brand name of SHELLGAS for the northern area covering Penang Island, Province Wellesley, Krian district and Kulim.


2005
Permai LPG Logistik Sdn Bhd was incorporated to manage the entire transportation, delivery and logistics requirement of the LPG division. Delivery fleet expanded to 11 delivery trucks (from 3 to 5 tons capacity). Permai Gas Sdn Bhd took over operations of SHELL's central store in Prai (later shifted to CDO in Bukit Minyak).

Commenced construction of new RM2.5 million Centralised Distribution Outlet (*CDO*) on a 1.5 acre industrial lot purchased in Bukit Minyak Industral Estate for distribution of SHELLGAS. CDO capable of throughputting 100,000 cylinders a month.


2006
New CDO was completed and commissioned in May 2006. Permai Logistik added a new 36 tonne trailer to its fleet. Permai Gas-Pipe Engineering Sdn Bhd expands to two service teams.


2007
With new CDO operation task, Permai sales increase by another 67% interms of domestics sales & 16.2% interms of industrial sales. With that, we further upgrade CDO operation facilities & equipments to cater further demand.


2008
Permai became fully independence interms of own collection from Ipoh Shell plant (thru - Permai Logistic) by adding on additional 1 unit 44 ton metal pallet trailer and 1 unit 24 ton rigid lorry. Even though Major Electronic Firm was affected due to economic slump, Permai still managed to maintain our business growth.
